Our journey into advanced nutritional science didn't begin with a desire to launch another supplement brand. It began with a question that became harder to ignore the longer we sat with it: why do so many supplements look extraordinary on paper, yet fail to produce the biological impact they promise?

The more time we spent studying cellular biology, pharmacokinetics, longevity research, and formulation science, the more we arrived at the same frustrating realization. We can formulate the most biologically sophisticated compounds in the world, but if those compounds never reach the tissues and cells they were designed to support, their true potential goes unrealized. That single observation became the foundation of LipoCentric Nutra. We didn't want to create another supplement — we wanted to understand how to engineer formulations that respected both the complexity of human biology and the realities of human physiology.

One principle ended up shaping everything that followed, and it's a simple one. Before we build any product, we ask ourselves whether a better version of it already exists on the market. If the answer is yes, we don't build it.

We don't believe the world needs another supplement. It needs better thinking.

That principle sent us into months of studying the most popular, most marketed, and most discussed longevity products sold globally — their ingredients, their doses, their delivery technologies, and, most importantly, the biological assumptions sitting underneath all three.

Why NAD⁺ Changed the Conversation Around Healthy Aging

To understand why LipoNMN-5™ Complex exists, it helps to start with one of the most important molecules in human biology: NAD⁺, or Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide.

If every cell in the body were a city, NAD⁺ would be its currency. Trillions of cells depend on it every second for some of their most fundamental tasks — generating cellular energy inside the mitochondria, supporting cellular repair mechanisms, taking part in metabolic and signaling pathways, and acting as a cofactor for several proteins studied in healthy aging research.

One of the most consistent findings in aging biology is that NAD⁺ levels decline naturally over time. As availability drops, the biological systems that depend on it may become less efficient — an observation that turned NAD⁺ metabolism into one of the most active areas of longevity science, and led researchers to a natural next question: can supporting healthy NAD⁺ metabolism help support healthy aging?

That question pointed toward one of the most studied molecules in longevity research today — β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, or NMN, a direct precursor to NAD⁺. Rather than attempting to deliver NAD⁺ itself, NMN gives cells a building block they can use to support their own NAD⁺ metabolism.

The more we studied NMN, the more convinced we became that it represented an important piece of the healthy aging puzzle. But the deeper we went, the more it raised a question that ended up redirecting our entire research process: if aging affects multiple biological systems at once, why try to support it with a single molecule?

Three patterns kept repeating.

After months of research, we concluded that healthy aging isn't a single-pathway problem, so it shouldn't be answered with a single-pathway formula. Five ingredients made the final architecture, each selected to answer a different scale of the same question — from the molecule, outward to the whole body.

But systems thinking on its own isn't a justification — it's a philosophy. So for each ingredient below, we've gone one layer deeper than "it fits the system." We've laid out the specific biological reason it sits next to NMN in this formula: what it does on its own, and — where the science actually supports it — how it helps the body build more NAD⁺, protect that NAD⁺ once it exists, or put it to use, rather than simply occupying space on the label next to it.

One more thing ties these five together, and it's physical rather than biological: none of them are delivered separately. What fuels NAD⁺ metabolism at the source?

NMN is a direct precursor to NAD⁺ — the molecule every cell depends on for energy production, cellular repair, and dozens of metabolic and signaling pathways. It's the foundation of the formula: the beginning of the biological story, not the whole of it.

Every other ingredient in this formula exists in relation to what NMN starts. TMG helps the body keep up with the metabolic cost of turning NMN into usable NAD⁺. What happens to methylation once NAD⁺ metabolism speeds up?

Methylation supports hundreds of reactions throughout the body, including processes tied to cellular maintenance and metabolism — yet it's a subject most longevity formulas leave out entirely. We include 500 mg of BetaPower® Natural Betaine, a naturally sourced, 99% pure form of TMG from IFF, because supporting NAD⁺ metabolism without supporting methylation felt like solving half a question.

How it correlates with NMN specifically

When NAD⁺ is used by enzymes like sirtuins and PARPs, one byproduct is nicotinamide. Clearing that nicotinamide runs through an enzyme called NNMT, and every time it does, it spends one methyl group from the body's SAMe pool. The more NAD⁺ turnover a formula creates, the more that clearance pathway runs — and the more methyl groups it draws on. TMG feeds that pool back through a separate route, the BHMT pathway, donating a methyl group to regenerate methionine and, from it, more SAMe. How do cells stay resilient, not just energized?

Healthy aging isn't only about producing more cellular energy — cells also need to withstand oxidative and metabolic stress over time. We chose Silbinol® Trans-Pterostilbene over resveratrol for its stability and quality profile: a deliberate answer to cellular resilience, not energy output alone.

How it correlates with NMN specifically

Sirtuins — the enzyme family most closely tied to healthy aging research — don't just benefit from NAD⁺, they require it as a substrate to function at all. Raising NAD⁺ through NMN and expecting a downstream benefit assumes those sirtuins are also being asked to do their job. Pterostilbene has been studied for its ability to support sirtuin activity, which is another way of saying it gives the NAD⁺ that NMN provides somewhere productive to go, rather than sitting unused in the cell.

Evidence tier: the NAD⁺-sirtuin dependency itself is well established. Sirtuin activation by stilbenes like pterostilbene is a well-mapped laboratory and animal-model mechanism, but a controlled human trial combining NMN with pterostilbene specifically has not yet been published. We include it for mechanistic coherence, not a proven human outcome.

How do cells communicate as a network, not in isolation?

Healthy aging is governed by biological networks, not isolated pathways — cells communicate, adapt, and respond continuously. We include high-purity Apigenin as another deliberately chosen piece of that network, not as a hero ingredient or a label trend.

How it correlates with NMN specifically

This is the ingredient most directly protecting what NMN builds. A meaningful part of why NAD⁺ falls with age isn't only reduced production — it's also increased breakdown, largely through an enzyme called CD38, which degrades NAD⁺ and can degrade NMN itself before the body ever uses it. Laboratory and animal research has identified apigenin as an inhibitor of CD38, meaning it may help preserve the NAD⁺ pool rather than only adding to it. Raising NAD⁺ with NMN while an enzyme is actively breaking it back down is a leaking-bucket problem — Apigenin is our attempt to address the leak, not just add more water. We source it at 98% purity because the CD38 research has been conducted on the compound itself, not on lower-purity extracts.

Evidence tier: this is preclinical research — cell and animal studies dating back to 2013 — not yet confirmed in large human trials. We treat it as a well-reasoned inclusion, not a guaranteed outcome.

What good is a well-fed cell if nothing delivers the fuel?

Every cell depends on the vascular system to receive oxygen and nutrients. Vitamin K2 isn't in the formula because it raises NAD⁺ — it's here because we believe healthy aging has to include the systems that nourish the cell, not only what happens inside it. We use it as MenaQ7®, produced to a high all-trans purity standard — the specific configuration of MK-7 the body actually uses, as opposed to the mixed-isomer forms found in many lower-cost sources.

How it correlates with NMN specifically

We want to be direct here, because it would be easy to overstate this one: unlike the other three, Vitamin K2 doesn't act on NAD⁺ metabolism at all, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Its job is genuinely different. Even a cell with abundant, well-utilized NAD⁺ still depends entirely on healthy circulation to receive the oxygen and nutrients that power those NAD⁺-dependent processes in the first place. MenaQ7® supports the activation of proteins involved in directing calcium appropriately in the body, which plays a role in maintaining healthy arterial and vascular function. It's in the formula because a well-fueled cell doesn't mean much if the delivery system feeding it is neglected — not because it changes how NMN itself is processed.

A note on how we've framed the evidence above: three of these four supporting ingredients have a documented, if still-developing, mechanistic connection to NAD⁺ metabolism specifically. The fourth — Vitamin K2 — earns its place for a different, complementary reason, and we'd rather say that plainly than manufacture a connection that isn't there.

Ingredient Sourcing

Sourcing the Right β-NMN

Most comparisons between NMN products stop at dosage. We didn't think that was enough. Once NMN became the foundation of the formula, the real question became: what is the highest-quality β-NMN molecule we can source?

In the body, NMN exists as β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide — the specific isomer the NAD⁺ biosynthetic pathway actually uses. Depending on the manufacturing route, production can generate a mixture of stereochemical forms that then require extensive purification to isolate the pure β-form. That detail changed how we thought about sourcing entirely.

Our research led us to Japanese β-NMN produced through plant-derived yeast fermentation, using a micronization process that reduces the NMN particle size to increase its surface area — the raw ingredient itself is engineered to dissolve and absorb more readily, before it's ever encapsulated in the liposomal shell built around it. The manufacturing process is also built to avoid generating the α-NMN isomer and other impurities, keeping the finished ingredient above 99% purity.

There was something fitting about that layering. Most formulas treat absorption as something the delivery system alone is responsible for. We wanted the raw material itself engineered for absorption first, and then built the liposomal system around it — two distinct technologies solving the same problem from two different angles, rather than asking one to do all the work.

We could have chosen a cheaper source. We could have chosen one that was easier to market. But if this formula was going to be built around one foundational molecule, that molecule deserved the highest scrutiny we could give it — not the most marketable option, but the one we'd choose for ourselves.

Once the biology was designed, we ran into a question that had been sitting with us from the beginning: what if the formulation never reaches the cells it was built for?

A molecule can look extraordinary on paper and demonstrate real biological activity in a lab, and still have limited real-world impact if it can't navigate digestion and become available for absorption. Selecting the right ingredients turned out to be only half the challenge — delivery deserved the same scientific attention as the ingredients themselves.

When we started exploring delivery systems, we kept returning to one observation: human biology already built one of the most elegant delivery systems that exists. Every cell is surrounded by a membrane made primarily of phospholipids, which help regulate what enters and exits. That's what led us to liposomal delivery — phospholipid-based structures designed to help protect bioactive compounds and support their passage through digestion.

A supplement isn't a list of ingredients. It's a biological system — and the delivery system is part of it.

Most formulations apply advanced delivery technology to a single ingredient — usually the NMN, since it's the one doing the marketing work.
